Board of Governors

The Busy Bees Board of Governors is composed of five parents and the Directors of Busy Bees. A teacher representative is also invited to attend board meetings as an observer. Members are appointed from the parent community, with appointments occurring in May for the upcoming academic year (August – July).
The Board of Governors is tasked with ensuring the school operates effectively and transparently while providing support and guidance to the school Directors. Their primary focus includes oversight of school management, financial resources, and security matters.
Board meetings are held bi-monthly (a total of six meetings per school year) or more frequently as needed at the request of the School Directors.

Anneloes van Golstein
President
Anneloes is a dedicated mother of two, with one of her children currently attending Busy Bees. She is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in management and organizational development. Holding a Master’s degree in Business Administration and an accredited CPA from the Netherlands, Anneloes brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team.
Throughout her career, Anneloes has held various managerial positions, including roles at PwC and Ahold Delhaize. Her experience in leading large teams and managing complex projects has sharpened her skills in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and enhancing organizational efficiency. Additionally, she has significant experience in the non-profit sector.
Passionate about supporting the school’s mission and vision, Anneloes is committed to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive in a nurturing and innovative educational environment. She looks forward to contributing to the school’s positive outcomes and enriching the school community.

Lauren McBroom
Secretary
Lauren is the proud mother of Malcolm McBroom, who is currently in the Big Bees class. Her family became part of the Busy Bees community in August 2023. As the Secretary of the Busy Bees Board of Directors, Lauren brings over fifteen years of experience in the education sector, having worked as a classroom teacher, advisor, and program manager across the United States, France, Mali, Tanzania, and now the DRC.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Curriculum Development, specializing in education within diverse cultural contexts. Known for her organizational skills and collaborative spirit, Lauren is eager to support the exceptional work of the teachers, staff, and families at Busy Bees.

Violette Dubois Sunguza
Treasurer
Born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Violette Dubois sought broader horizons by pursuing her university education in China—a transformative experience that enriched her global perspective and honed her fluency in multiple languages.
For over 14 years, Violette has worked in the banking industry, developing a strong professional foundation. As a proud mother of two children—one who is currently at Busy Bees and another who is now an alumni—Violette has witnessed firsthand the nurturing and inspiring environment that Busy Bees offers to young learners.
Her love for the school and its vibrant community has driven her to take a more active role in shaping its future. By serving on the board, Violette is committed to supporting initiatives that prioritize the well-being of children and foster a strong sense of community for both parents and students.
A firm believer in the power of collaboration, Violette looks forward to leveraging her unique background and dedication to contribute meaningfully to the continued success of the Busy Bees family.

Amanda Blumrich
Board Member
With a background in communications, marketing, logistics, and operations, and years of experience living and traveling abroad, Amanda Blumrich brings a unique perspective to the Busy Bees Board. Her international experiences, often in challenging environments, have taught her the importance of building strong, supportive communities. Since moving to Kinshasa earlier this year, Amanda has been deeply impressed by the care and dedication of the Busy Bees teachers, especially in helping her daughter, transition smoothly into the a new enviroment.
This year, Amanda has taken an active role in supporting the school, gaining insights into its daily operations and building strong connections with students, teachers, and parents. She is excited to contribute to the continued success of Busy Bees by fostering a collaborative parent community and working closely with the board and staff to ensure the school remains a nurturing and inspiring place for all children.

Alice Ntale
Board Member
Alice brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the role. Her son is currently a proud member of the Bumble Bees class.
Born in Kinshasa to a Congolese father and a Polish mother, Alice’s life journey is marked by resilience and global perspective. In 1991, her family relocated to Poland during the tumultuous years of the local war in what was then Zaïre. She pursued her education in Europe, completing her studies with distinction.
In 2013, Alice and her husband returned to the Democratic Republic of Congo, where she has since been serving as the HR Director for MICROCOM S.A.R.L. Her passion for working with people and fostering teamwork has been a constant throughout her career.
Alice’s leadership journey began early; at 15, she started working with various organizations. During her university years, she joined the Student Board at the Warsaw University of Technology and was honored to serve as a Senator of the Board, showcasing her commitment to collaboration and leadership.
When she’s not at work or contributing to the Board, Alice cherishes her free time with her two boys, enjoying moments of reading and dancing together.
